Was listening to a nostalgia radio station the other day and realized dutch artists used to make some pretty good songs:

Ever since I downloaded a Rilke-poem, I've been curious about the rest of the poems. But apparently, no dutch bookshop sells german literature. So, I had to go online. For some reason, none of the books I checked out had a listing of which poems were featured in the book. So I ended up buying a book with all of Rilke's poems.

865 pages thick.

Now, I hardly ever read poems. This seems like a good opportunity to start. *g*

Can anyone tell me whether the movie Dune is worth watching if you would like to see Jurgen Prochnow in another movie whilst hating Kyle McLachlan?

I've been pondering on what to do during my summer holidays in September and because I've been wanting to go to the Bavaria Studios for quite a while now, I'm considering going to Munich by train. But other then the football club... does anyone know what else there's to see or do in Munich?

I had German class in high school but only one teacher managed to get me that interested in the subject that certain names still stick in my memory. It isn't much and sometimes I can't for the life of me connect names with literary works but the fact that they still stick in my head after 14-15 years when most of what I learned in university only 5 years ago is gone... it must have made some impression.

Two literary works stand out: Der Besuch der alten Dame (The visit) by Friedrich Durrenmatt (partly because we went to see the play and due to a tooth extraction I had a cheek the size of a big egg that day) and Der Panther (The Panther) by Rainer Maria Rilke. I know that Otto Sander read that poem for the Rilke project but I can't find it anywhere, although I haven't tried youtube yet. So instead, in attempt to rekindle my interest in German literature, I bought the next poem via i-tunes. The first reason is the narrator but the second reason is that I really like the combination of voice and music - it's really soothing.
